Ground School |
Stalling has had many students somewhat frightened by quotes that may float around the local flying school clubrooms such as “falling out of the sky” and “violently pitching”. However, as we will discover today, aircraft stalling is not to be feared, but examined in detail to discover the symptoms of an approaching stall, how recognize the stall itself and the most important facet, how to recover with the least amount of altitude lost. |

From the EDITOR..
Heads up! June is here and that means we are almost half way through the year. If anyone can tell me where the last six months have gone, let me know!
It is certainly encouraging to see flight simulation moving forward in leaps and bounds recently. Some of the freeware and commercial add-ons I have had the chance to look at are simply amazing. Incredibly detailed aircraft add-ons, stunning scenery enhancements and some fierce combat action certainly puts the icing on the cake.
I am also happy to report that the new Computer Pilot website is now online and operating in full, after some redesigning of the layout. You should find the new site to be very user-friendly, allowing you to access the information you need very fast. Check it out at www.computerpilot.com if you get a spare moment.
I’d like to extend my thanks to all those readers who have submitted ideas for future articles, and even submitted articles themselves for consideration in our magazine. While we cannot publish every article submitted, we certainly do look at them all for suitability in Computer Pilot. You can read one such article in this very issue. Tom Heaverlo has submitted a great piece on the making of a Bell 47 helicopter. It’s worth a read as Tom has covered the story very well in both words and images. For the combat fans, Derek has put together a great piece on Air-to-Air weapons. If you fly the F-15 in Lock On regularly, this is an article not to miss!
That’s all from me. Sit back and enjoy the June issue of Computer Pilot Magazine. The world’s largest, and only monthly printed flight simulation publication!
